I started day 20 by getting up early. I had headed to bed early in order to get a head start on my favorite day of the year (4/20). All day my motivation levels were high and I was in good spirits. I felt positive and productive, but I allowed myself to be less productive than normal because it was a holiday. If you’re confused about why I am saying that April 20th was a holiday, do a google search of 4/20 and see what kind of stuff you come up with. I’m sure you’ll be able to figure it out.
I ate a lot on day 20 and spent a lot of time outside in the back yard enjoying the gorgeous day. I got my first few hours of good sun for the year and got some natural vitamin D for once. I even got a bit of a sun burn, but nothing too bad. I’m just a little bit pink on my upper body but it isn’t painful at all. I think I hit my optimal vitamin D production for the day since according to professionals your body quits making vitamin D once your skin begins to go pink, so if you are in the sun until you begin to turn the slightest shade of pink you have produced your maximum amount of vitamin D for the day. I rarely have a chance to get natural vitamin D because I work night shifts so it was nice to be up all morning and afternoon and be able to enjoy the great weather.
I even took my first bike ride across the city to pick up a bottle of wine, of which I only had one glass. I almost felt like going for a longer ride once I had gotten out on the bike, but decided against it and came home to enjoy some more time in the back yard. I had a great 4/20 despite the fact that there were no 4/20 parties that I knew of this year. I hope everyone else had a wonderful 4/20 too.
What I ate today
I decided to try switching it up a little bit today and start the morning with a big salad instead of fruit. I made a big salad with a 300g Dole premixed salad with 2 handfuls of baby spinach and 5 tablespoons of hempseed. The salad was awesome and I actually enjoyed eating this one. The added hempseed and spinach made this meal quite high in protein which was a good way to start the day.
After eating the salad I realized that food actually seemed appetizing to me again. I didn’t feel as bored today with raw food. It seems to be a roller coaster pattern where one day I will enjoy eating raw and the next day I am bored as hell. I’m not sure why this is, it’s not like I’m changing the foods that I’m eating a whole lot.
Throughout the rest of the day I didn’t really eat any more ‘meals’. I mostly snacked on fruits for the remainder of the day. I felt hungry most of the day but that might have just been the munchies.
Through the rest of the day I snacked on
- 2 bananas
- 300g blueberries
- 80 g pistachios
- 1 pear
- 1 mandarin
- 1 bowl full of grapes
- 1 handful of goji berries
- a large bowl of raw salsa that I made with 100% whole wheat crackers
That brought me to the end of my favorite day of the year.
I weigh in at 155lbs. My weight has stayed around 155 for a few days now with very little fluctuation. That’s good because I really don’t want to weigh any less than I do.
Welp, that’s it for today!
Cheers!
