Raw Food Diet, Day 14: Feeling Super Powered

by Mitch on April 15, 2010

Day 14 began when I got up 2 hours before my alarm was scheduled to go off. I slept for 5 hours and got up feeling refreshed and energetic. I’ve noticed that it’s a lot easier to get out of bed since I started on the raw foods. I used to continually set my alarm back several times before I would actually get out of bed, but since I started this trial I haven’t had as much trouble getting out of bed. I’ve been waking up early with far less sleep than usual – I would normally like to get 8-10 hours of sleep per day before starting my 30 days raw, but since starting this diet I’m averaging about 5-7 hours per day. That’s a lot of time gained! 2 hours more a day can add up to a lot more time spent on things far more valuable than sleep. That is probably the biggest bonus to this diet that I have observed so far.

When I woke up I felt like I was super powered. I felt really awesome for the first part of the day, I actually thought I might explode with awesome. I thought that working with ‘the law of attraction’ in a state like that would be the best way to do it. The best attitude for intention manifestation is one that’s bursting with energy and emotion, specifically in a happy or playful manner. I had so much focused positive energy flowing through me that I think I could have made anything I wanted manifest into reality pretty quickly. I’m sure this is true because later in the day I received a phone call from a supervisor at work who told me that I got a dayshift job that I had applied for. This means that in a few months I will no longer be working the nightshift! That’s a big up for my quality of life in the near future. I’ll be able to get a lot more stuff done by taking advantage of the optimal hours of the day for peak productivity in humans. I’ll also be able to sleep in the dark and have a more normal life. I can’t help but wonder if my positivity had anything to do with attracting that opportunity to me.

What I ate

I started the morning with 2 bananas and 500g of strawberries. Another fruit breakfast. I’m getting pretty used to this and it’s really starting to bore me.

For lunch I had veggie sushi:

Vegetarian Sushi & Green Smoothie

I know this isn’t completely raw because the rice has been cooked to some degree. I don’t really care though, I am getting extremely bored with some of these foods and I enjoyed eating something a little different. The sushi was a nice change from salad and fruit. I remembered what it’s like to enjoy eating something different and I might eat more veggie sushi soon.

With the sushi I downed a large green smoothie. It had apple juice, banana, passionfruit juice, plum juice, lemon & lime juice, spirulina powder, flax seed oil, barley grass powder, and wheat grass powder. The smoothie was like a meal itself and it actually tasted quite good. It wasn’t gritty or green tasting at all, but it was a frightening dark green color.

I went to an organic market which I have never been to before and found goji berries, hemp seed, and a bunch of new raw products. I picked up some goji berries and hemp seed to add to my diet. I had a handful of goji berries and a couple tablespoons of hemp seeds as a snack.

Before going to bed I ate a banana and 2 pears. That’s all I could handle for the day and I went to bed feeling good.

I think that part of your boredom problem is that really all you are eating is raw fruit and veggies. Raw diet people have created many different recipes and things for “breads” and “meats” and all sorts of things to keep it interesting and I think you should experiment more with trying out some of these instead of just eating raw fruit and salads.
have you looked at these sites?

I browse both of those sites regularly.

Every recipe I have tried from there has been gross.

Just my explanation of why I don’t eat that crap. It doesn’t make anything like bread or meat. It tastes like mushy fruits and veggies. I have no dehydrator and I don’t have the time or motivation to spend 3 hours making something that will take 15 minutes to eat.
