Day 11 began with me rushing off to work trying not to be late. I brought a big lunch with me and didn’t eat it all. I had a few detoxification side-effects but nothing too major. Nothing nearly as severe as day 10.
What I ate today
Today started with 2 bananas when I got to work. This didn’t seem like enough but I ran out of break-time and had to go back to work. It was enough to get me going though. I followed the bananas up with 2 mandarins, about 90g of blueberries, and an apple. After eating all that I finally felt fairly normal again.
Later in the day I ate another apple, some carrots, a little bit of broccoli (not very much) and about 250g of strawberries. That’s all I ate at work today. After that I simply wasn’t very hungry for the rest of the night.
When I got home from work I started feeling some nausea again. I decided that instead of babying it I should just cram a bunch of food down my throat and see what would happen. I ate a banana and a tasty salad with one of those Dole Salad Mixes (this one didn’t have any nuts or anything) with an added handful of spinach and 2 handfuls of baby greens. I didn’t take any pictures because the salads all look pretty similar.
The ‘cram food down your throat to cure nausea’ method that I employed seemed to work quite well because after getting about half way into the salad I had no more nausea.
Detoxification
As I just mentioned above, I had some nausea late in the day today. I cured it by cramming food down my throat.
I’ve noticed over the last few days that I feel colder than usual. The temperature has dropped here this week but I suspect that it may have more to do with detoxification than the weather. It’s common for raw foodists to have a lower body temperature than your average omnivore according to some quick research I have done.
To go with the chill I have also been getting intermittent periods of heat. For a few minutes every few hours I have noticed that everything from my chest up will feel very warm. I almost feel like I am about to break out into a dripping sweat but it usually subsides before I actually begin to sweat. This is kind of annoying and weird.
My teeth still feel weird, usually when I’m eating is when I notice this. I still don’t really know how to describe this feeling, but brushing my teeth fixes it real quick so it’s no big deal.
Feedback
I’m starting to get a lot of feedback from the people around me these last few days. Other than commenting about how skinny I look, many people are now starting to seem supportive and interested in my experiment.
It seems the farther I go into these 30 days the more it seems people are beginning to gain an interest. Last night at work several of my coworkers were asking me questions about the what and why of the diet. Another couple people told me they are possibly interested in trying it themselves. Of course they immediately set themselves up to fail though – “I wouldn’t mind trying that actually. I would probably just melt away . But I probably couldn’t even do 1 day, nevermind 30 of them!” – that’s a classic example of giving your power away. Why couldn’t you go one day? Why couldn’t you go 30? I am pretty sure that you could, but you just don’t want to. You don’t believe you could go one day without eating meat? If that’s the case then you must have a really skewed view of your own potential. If you lack the self discipline to go one single day without eating meat, I’m sorry, but you aren’t going to go very far. Not that eating veggies is going to make you successful, but having a high level of self discipline could definitely assist.
Weight Loss
I’m currently weighing 155lbs. I have lost a few more pounds over the last couple days but I have also not had a whole lot to eat. That will change tomorrow though.

Sometimes that nausea is just the change in how your body interprets hunger, I get that most of the time when I’m hungry, I even puke from hunger somedays even if I’ve had a few meals already. If you’re still having trouble with dry skin it might be because you aren’t drinking enough water, you’re getting a lot from the foods you’re eating but you still need those 8 glasses and the nasty breath (if you still have it) is just toxins being expunged via your mouth, do you have like a white film on your tongue when you wake up?. A diet made of raw food is definitely expensive, even just a diet without meat is expensive if you’re trying to get all the nutrients you need. You might want to consider growing a garden when you move if you want to incorporate more fresh foods into your regular diet at the end of these 30 days. Anyway, I’m super jealous of your meals for the last couple weeks. :} And I’m glad you’re trying something new.
