Why choose an organic whole food vitamin?
Posted by MitchFeb 5
In the fast paced world we live in today it’s hard to get a completely nutritious diet from the foods we eat. It is not impossible, but it’s a daunting task to say the least. Most of us rely on processed, inorganic, or genetically modified foods for at least a portion of our diet and these foods do not have the same nutritional quality that raw, unprocessed, organic foods do. This is why it is important for most people to choose a good organic whole food vitamin to ensure optimum nutrition. Not everyone needs to take a multivitamin but the average person can benefit from taking a quality whole food multivitamin. If you do take a multivitamin you must be very certain that what you are getting is of the best quality and is made with all organic, non-GMO foods to ensure safety and good absorption by the body. Some synthetic vitamins might not do anything at all because they don’t break down in the body and exit with the stool while others may actually be toxic and can do more harm than good!
Should I be taking a multivitamin?
If you eat a healthy organic diet of locally grown produce and fresh raw foods you probably don’t need to take a multivitamin. However, most of us are unable to eat fresh, local, organic foods all of the time and must rely on processed, packaged, microwavable, or fast foods sometimes. If this is how it is for you, you will probably benefit from taking a vitamin. If you are unsure about it, see a doctor or your favorite homeopath to have them evaluate your situation and give you a better idea of what kind of supplementation you might benefit from.
Choose organic whole food vitamins
Synthetic vitamins, ‘isolates’, are made up of partial vitamins + chemicals and are a dangerously low end alternative to whole food organic vitamins.
A few decades ago studies were done on beta carotene and its ability to reduce the risk of cancer. When the study was complete they found that it actually had increased the risk of developing cancer. After a careful review, it was discovered that the reason for the increase in cancer was due to the fact that they had been using a synthetic version of beta carotene in the experiment. This is why it’s so important that you make sure your supplements are derived from a completely organic whole food source.
Whole food vitamins are better absorbed by the body. This is because they are easier for the body to break down in their naturally occurring states. If you get a multivitamin that contains minerals it will come in a tablet instead of a capsule. If your vitamins are in a tablet form you must make sure that they are not pressed to hard so that they break down in the stomach easily. Many synthetic vitamin tablets will not even break down and you will simply crap them out and I don’t think any of us are interested in increasing the cost of our fecal matter.
I take an organic whole food vitamin every day to ensure optimal health. If you’re like me and you don’t get all the vitamins and nutrients you need from the food that you eat, taking an organic whole food multivitamin will boost your immune system to new levels and it will boost your energy levels and rejuvenate your body and mind, leaving you feeling energized and full of life. Just be very sure to do your research on the brand of vitamin you decide to purchase before you begin taking it.
