How to remember to take vitamins
Posted by MitchFeb 9
So many people have told me that their biggest problem with taking any kind of supplement is that they forget to take them. I used to have that problem too but I have come up with a way to remember to take them regularly and it’s really quite simple.
Association
The method I use to remember when to take vitamins, herbs, or other forms of supplementation is to associate taking them with something else that you always do. Every time I eat, I take chlorella. The chlorella that I take is taken as follows: 5 tablets, 3 times a day. I usually only eat 2 real meals a day, sometimes only one, but I also count snacks. If I eat something I always think “vitamins?”. And if I have already taken all the vitamins or supplements I am taking that day then I continue about my day, but if I need to take my 2nd multivitamin or another dose of chlorella, it’s easy to remember. I eat, I take a vitamin. It’s a good idea to associate vitamins and supplements with food because that’s where you are supposed to be getting all of the nutrients in the first place, and it’s easy to remember if you think about it like that.
You can use this method to remember to do almost anything, not only with supplements, and not only with eating either. You can remember to brush your teeth when you first wake up, or remind yourself that your pets and plants may be thirsty when you are thirsty. Maybe you have a problem remembering to feed your pet. Why not remember to feed them every time you eat breakfast, or any time you do something else that you do regularly that will remind you to keep your little buddies fed and happy. I know it may be a simple strategy, but it’s what works for me.
